Hidden Farewell

St. Paul's & Millennium Bridge

In the Grove

I found this lush place in Suffolk, England and wanted to record the stillness of this small forest with an 8 second exposure at small aperture in a complete lack of winds that day.

London Eye

Admiralty Arch in London

Admiralty Arch is a large office building in London which incorporates an archway providing road and pedestrian access between The Mall, which extends to the southwest, and Trafalgar Square to the northeast.
I photographed it in the evening and was standing on the middle of the road for almost an hour to make sure I have the perfect timing with the light streaks left by the cars on the left and right hand side.

Canary Wharf Millennium Dome London

This image was taken about one hour after the sun had set behind the horizon from a distance using long lens. This is the only standpoint in London where it’s possible to take both the towers of Canary Wharf and the Millennium Dome into the same composition.

Scattered trees in Brockwell Park in London captured on a foggy morning.

The famous landmark Westminster Abbey in London photographed in the evening. I used 10mm wide angle lens in order to be able to include the huge building in the frame from such distance. Note the Big Ben on the bottom left corner in the background.

Trafalgar Square in London

Trafalgar Square in the heart of London, photographed in the evening in black and white. Its centre is Nelson’s Column, which is guarded by four lion statues at it’s base. The name Trafalgar Square commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, a British naval victory of the Napoleonic Wars.

Canary Wharf Silhouette

The towers of Canary Wharf in London on a late Summer evening with the setting sun behind and the River Thames in the foreground.

Durdle Door Curves

This is the iconic arch formation of Durdle Door in Dorset on the South coast of England.

Black & White seascape of the famous Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. It’s a surreal place with thousands of hexagonal basalt stones where lava from a volcanic erruption once met the cold sea. This area was declared World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1986.

Taken on shore of Broadstairs on the south coast of England, this is a long exposure image of the rapidly incoming and recedeing sea water. When I found this circular composition, it reminded me a of a large cauldron of ancient gods where they first created life in a mythological tale.

Sea Marker in Dundalk

An old and rusty ‘sea marker’ captured near the town of Dundalk in Ireland, against a dramatic backdrop of the always-amazing Irish sky on a dark, gloomy afternoon.

Ruins of Reculver

One Glimpse at the Sun

Venus and Milky Way

Using long exposure and very light sensitive settings, I wanted to capture the Milky Way and the planet Venus in a night time landscape in Suffolk; England. I included a lone house in the frame to give a sense of scale of a manmade building against the massive sky.

St. Patrick's Cemetery in Dundalk

St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Dundalk; Ireland with the dramatic Irish sky in the background.

Natures Mercy

I found this view beside the town of Dundalk in Ireland, I found it fascinating how the overpowering cloud formed itself over the boats in the sea, demonstrating how we are all at the mercy of nature.

Onibaba

This image was captured in the London Wetland Centre in Barnes. It reminds me of those great black and white shots of the susuki grass swamp in 1964 Japanese film titled Onibaba.

Silent Grove

On the way back to London after visiting Dorset on the South coast, we noticed this peaceful place somewhere in Wareham.

Countryside Picturesque

Blyford Silhouette

Blackrock in Ireland

This was taken with 94 seconds exposure, to make the London Eye look like it’s spinning. This evening the wheel was constantly red instead of changing from one colour to another, which was essential as the changing colours tend to confuse the camera sensor when using such long exposure.

Temple Church in London

Temple Church in London located between Fleet Street and the River Thames. It was built for and by the Knights Templar as their English headquarters, that is why this place is surrounded by conspiracy theories and speculations. It’s also featured in Dan Brown’s book The Da Vinci Code and is famous for its effigy tombs and for being a round church. Because Temple Church is surrounded by buildings, a distant view is not possible. I placed the camera in the corner at a low angle with the widest available focal length to get this image.

When Sky met Land

As the Moon rose on a late autumn afternoon in Petts Wood in England, I waited for the colourful clouds to enter the frame from the left. I wanted to compose the image so that land reaches into the frame from the right and the clouds from the left, creating visual balance.

Striving for the Sky

I captured this scene in Petts Wood in England. I found the asymmetric shape of the Oak tree fascinating. The evening light was fantastic, the tree branch and parts of the sky were illuminated by the warm colours of the sun that was just above the horizon behind me.

Pythagoras Alignment

Combining the setting sun with a lone tree and a stunning sky in the background, I framed a double triangle into the composition here. The image was captured near the town of Halesworth in Suffolk county in England.

Winter Parallels

Two parallel cloud layers illuminated by the setting sun captured in Ireland on an early January afternoon. The field in the foreground was covered in snow that had fallen the previous night.

Farewell to the Sun

I took this image in Suffolk; England. I had been waiting for the sunset at this place, I really liked the pattern created by these long trees and wanted to combine them with the setting sun and the complimenting colours.

Bluebells are quite rare, you can only catch them for about two weeks every year. I wanted to capture the vibrant colours of blue with sunrays coming through the trees in the background. Taken in Suffolk; England.

Brockwell Autumn

This image was taken on a humid and cold autumn morning of heavy fog in Brockwell Park in London; England.

A peaceful and magical Moonrise over the sea in the coastal town of Dunwich in Suffolk; England.

Durdle Door in Dorset

A mesmerising forest in Powerscourt in Ireland. I found this place in walking distance from the famous Powerscourt Waterfall.

New Forest

I took this image in New Forest in England, using a tripod and 8 seconds long exposure in order to capture the movement on the surface of the river. New Forest is a National Park located on the South of England.

Long before the Sun rose from behind Cooley Mountains in the background, I took this image using long exposure to create a surreal atmosphere.  Taken near the coastal village of Blackrock in Ireland.

Blackrock Dawn 2

About a year after I captured the image titled Blackrock Dawn (see in the same gallery),  I returned to the same area and I was surprised to see very similar conditions of light and colours. I decided to take a similar approach to capturing a surreal seascape and the result was this companion image to the original Blackrock Dawn taken a year later.

Wandering in Walberswick Nature Reserve in Suffolk on a summer evening, I noticed that the rays of the setting Sun found their way through the woods to give golden side light for these pine trees, which lasted only for 2-3 minutes.
